Comotomo Teether review and giveaway.

Pops is now 19 months and she's had 17 teeth since she was 12 months. Her very back 4 molars are on their way and we're getting the finger chewing and red cheeks. Usually pops wears her amber necklace but we've lost it and waiting for her new one. What better time to give her a new type of teether to try out...

We got avey in to help with this little review, we were sent 2 teethers one of which was opened straight away, gave a wash and given to avey and he took to it straight away. He's 7 months now and able to hold most things but the handle on these look like it would be fairly easy for smaller babies too. He enjoyed chewing on the little 'fingers' and I think it helps that there's a few on all sides so whatever way he held it he could find one to pop in his mouth.

Pops being older was a little less interested in it as a toy but whenever I saw her chewing her fingers I would hand her the teether and she would pop that in a chew away instead, the little 'fingers' on the teether are like a chubbier version of hers so think that helped that she could pop one in and bite on it.

They're recommend from 3 months and older and are BPA free. We popped ours in the dishwasher before checking if it could but luckily it can, it's safe in the microwave and steam sterilisers too... which is a GREAT thing as most of pops ones when she was younger wasn't.

They come in an orange and blue and both are bright and stand out which makes them pretty hard to misplace, popping a clip to attach it to a pram would be a good idea!

Have you got a teething baby? What methods do you use to ease the pain?
Have they got a favourite teether?

Gender equality?

This is a bit of a different more serious post but seeing as it was international woman day yesterday it seems pretty appropriate to talk about.

Did you see about the company that allows their female staff 'period' leave? Personally I think that is the biggest step back that women in the work place have ever taken.
I've suffered with terrible period pains, I won't bore or gross you out with the details but I would NEVER agree for that to give me special treatment.
What are your views about this?
I understand some women have illnesses which means their periods are excruciating and I feel that it should be that illness that excuses them, the same way that if you're ill and your doctor signs you off from work.
What's next 'manflu' leave?

Moving on from that, we watch alot of music videos in our house because pops loves music and dancing but it's really opened my eyes as to how many women are just being used as 'meat' for the lack of a better word.
Shaking their bums and making suggestive motions. Is that what people expect from a girl bands music video?

I've never really concerned myself too much with things like this but now having pops regardless of her being a girl because I think it works both ways... The expectations people have and how it seems to be one step forward and half a step back.

I want other people's opinions so pop me a comment below, I'm also still sorting a giveaway so keep popping back to check if it's up (soon I promise)

Until the next post,
Are and Pops.

Dream destination 2016!?

Dream destinations...

It's hard to pin point what that may be as a mum, a couple of years ago it would have been somewhere hot and relaxing with beautiful beaches or fun and exciting with amazing bars and restaurants but since having pops dream destination means family holiday... Somewhere special and once in a lifetime that will allow us to create memories that will last forever.

Somewhere like Orlando, florida. I know it's a typical holiday everyone wants but it's something that alot of families can't really afford (if done right!) I want to spoil her with fun and laughter (and pop to harry potter world for me) create memories and take lots of pictures to look back on.

Somewhere we can all enjoy...
A holiday that makes even grown ups feel like kids again. Rides, characters and lots of yummy food. What could sound better? I've even heard they get pretty good weather over there too.

That's my dream destination, what's yours? Something for the kids or something for yourself?

Have you taken your dream destination holiday? Where was it and did it live up to your expectations?

www.icelolly.com have this amazing blog competition running and I think everyone should enter. I'm linking 3 amazing blogs that I think should enter and you should head over and check them out.

Weekend ups and downs.

This weekend was supposed to consist of safari on Saturday and alvin and the chipmunks on Sunday... one of those went to plan...

We got up and ready nice and early Saturday morning and started making our way to west midlands safari park, the weather was horrible and our car heater is broke and we couldn't get it to clear as we were driving. It was one of the scariest things I've ever been through. Then to add to that pops car seat was suddenly really loose?! I tend to not think as things as signs but I definitely felt these were. We decided to not go to the safari as it's 2 hours away and it was just too unsafe to continue.

I wanted to get pops car seat looked at so we went to mothercare and as MM was fitting it pops and I walked around.... we got hooked by pixifoto and ended up spending 90pound on photos. They definitely make you feel like you have to buy and it's not very nice once you walk away and know you didn't have that money.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Sunday was the best day weve had in so long, things just fell into place.

We headed into cardiff to see alvin and the chipmunks, we got there just in time to see them come in and have a little meet and greet.

Then we headed for some lunch at Zizzi (highly recommended), using the voucher I had won on their online game. Pops was still a bit tired so got a bit restless towards the end.
Once we were done we headed back over to where alvin was for the dancing and music.

It was such a lovely experience and it actually made me cry a bit watching how happy and excited pops got.
Does anyone else cry when they see their kids really happy? Just me? 🙈

We headed home and pops and MM had such a long nap!

Sorry if the post seems a bit all over the place, I wrote it in 2 sittings.

Until the next post,

Post post post

02/02 already, where did that go?

I've massively slacked with the blog, yet again.

Pops and I visited family in london a week or so ago, it was really nice. We went up on the Monday (missed beans on Tuesday 😢) and MM followed on Friday after work. We spent monday-Friday at my dad's seeing my side and then the Friday-Sunday with MMs for our nephews 2nd birthday.

TWO! I can't believe how quickly those years have gone and how close pops is to the big TWO too.

Speaking of two, it's one of pops new words. 'Two,two, two' that's her counting.

That and her new love for all things frozen!!
18 months and they've already hooked her... She can't go more than an hour without singing let it go.

#petlovers

I a bit of a random post considering its not about pops however it's about another baby of mine, one no longer with us.

I'll never forget the day we brought you home with us and finners was hounding you so much you wet yourself.

Something ill never forget is the time you had a sore willy, I remember taking you to the vets and having to explain why I was there and them telling me I had to wash your privates in baby oil and water. It was pretty funny and gross all rolled into one.

My little Stanley :)

Day 6 and already ill

So I've started off the new year with a lovely little cold. I've have trouble with my sinus so when I get a cold it spends most of its time there.

Being a parent and being ill has to be one of the most challenging things, I'm torn between not wanting pops to catch it and wanting to just lay in bed and sleep... none of which look likely to happen.

How to you balance kids and being sicky?
Also, if you have any tips on how

Until the next post,
